Fabulous nurse and doctor. I ended up with four stitches and tetanus shot and couldn't be more pleased with the care I received. Quickly in and out. Nurse was most professional, kind, caring, attentive, and helpful nurse I've dealt with. Thank you for being there. noon 6/4/17

I recently went to the ER for shoulder pain because I hadn't been to my family doctor in four years and couldn't be seen quickly. I was treated by Dr. Philippe, who did a fine job of getting x-rays and a diagnosis.

I was prescribed a steroid and knew that I had to follow up with a doctor. The next day, after realizing that I couldn't see another doctor quickly and that my pain was much worse, I called the ER to see if I could get a script for prescription strength ibuprofen. I spoke with a male in the ER who fields Dr. Phillipes calls who told me to just buy over the counter Motrin "honey", it's the same thing. As someone who had back surgery 14 years ago, I can tell you there is a difference between OTC and prescription Ibuprofen. I think that anyone who is going to give medication advice over the phone at the Westfield ER should perhaps be receiving training on pain management. He was condescending and likely assumed I wanted a stronger narcotic, but what I wanted was for him to hear me when I told him the 1500mg Extra Strength Tylenol every 6 hrs wasn't helping and he didn't hear that part. Therefore I give them 2 stars.
